Job description
Manager, (Technical) Corporate Business Department

Responsible in providing technical advice, quotation, underwriting and complying with company/group guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Underwriting
  • To assess and underwrite all line of Business but mainly for Property and Engineering Lines of Business ("LoB").
  • To underwrite and review all renewals and new businesses using the rating tools provided by Allianz and to monitor rate adequacy and rate change across the operational accounts.
  • To calculate retention and accumulation of risk based on the Company's capacity and underwriting authority grid.
  • To work closely with the Supervisor(s) on all referrals. To undertake all necessary preparatory work as guided and directed.
  • To provide quotations and technical advice to marketers on all LoBs as and when required.

To analyze and improve the profitability of the business underwritten.

Account Management and Other Duties
  • To liaise / visit agent / broker / client together with the marketers on renewals / technical matters/ enquiries as and when deemed necessary.
  • To manage the e-filing system and to ensure that the policy documents are kept systematically.
  • To obtain the necessary approval(s) in accordance with the Company / group guidelines.
  • Any other duties as and when required by the corporate business department.
Key Requirements
  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor 's Degree, Professional Degree in any discipline
  • At least 5 to 7 years of working experience in similar role
  • Experience in Property and Engineering Underwriting
  • Experience on other Lobs is advantage
  • Result-driven, able to achieve the assigned target, and able to work independently
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and maintain relationships with intermediaries, and an effective team player.
  • Well verse in both verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiar with the use of AI tools such as ChatGPT for tasks simplification
