Role: Manager, Student Recruitment (Malaysia campus)

Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this role is to lead and deliver student recruitment strategies that achieve the university’s enrolment targets. The post holder will plan and implement recruitment activities, manage the end-to-end recruitment process, and promote the university to prospective students and stakeholders. This role ensures that recruitment operations run efficiently and directly supports the university’s growth and long-term success
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, plan, and manage student recruitment and enrolment strategies in collaboration with the Senior Manager, Recruitment and Admissions
- Lead and manage the student recruitment team, monitoring performance to ensure enrolment targets are met across all intakes, including responsibility for leads management
- Collaborate with the Prospect Experience & Admission Manager to drive successful student conversions and enrolments
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to propose tactical recruitment initiatives, including tuition fees, waivers, and scholarships
- Support efforts to optimise Sales Cost of Acquisition by enhancing process efficiency and improving team productivity
- Work alongside Marketing & Communications teams to develop and execute promotional campaigns across digital and print channels to support recruitment efforts
- Coordinate with HWU’s regional recruitment teams to support student recruitment across the HWU global networks
- Plan, lead, and execute recruitment events, including on-campus Open Days, education fairs and special events designed to attract prospective students
- Monitor recruitment activities, providing timely reports and insights to the Senior Manager, Recruitment and Admissions.
- Stay updated on education industry trends, analysing market data and prospect enquiries to identify opportunities for new programme development.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the student recruitment team, including identifying and addressing training needs.
- Manage and train a team of student ambassadors to assist with recruitment activities

Person Specification
Essential
- Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Administration, or related field (professional qualifications also considered).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in student recruitment.
- Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement skills to deliver effective recruitment strategies.
- Experience managing external agencies to support recruitment activities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with students, parents, agents, and partners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a high standard of written English for reports and correspondence.
- Strong organisational and team management abilities; able to make decisions, motivate teams, and deliver results under pressure.
- Proactive, adaptable, detail-oriented, and professional in presentation.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills; able to interpret data and provide insights to inform recruitment.
- Collaborative team player who builds networks across departments and the wider organisation.
- Results-oriented with a focus on achieving objectives efficiently

- Proven track record in achieving targets in sales or recruitment roles.
