A Brief Overview

The Manager, FS Finance performs accounting and financial analysis for Asset-Intensive transactions. This role supports the preparation of management reporting for assigned business unit. The role will serve as the Team Lead for the Financial Solutions Finance team in the Kuala Lumpur office, without direct people management responsibilities.

What you will do
  • Performs month-end financial reporting functions, including general ledger uploads, reconciling ledger accounts, updating, reconciling and recording financial results, and analysis and reporting of data based on a US GAAP and Statutory basis.
  • Performs monthly administration tasks such as settlement processing, confirmation of supporting data, treaty compliance, documentation, recording and reconciling information to the general ledger as applicable.
  • Identifies, researches, and reports on differences between actual and expected financial results for assigned transactions.
  • Assists with set-up activities/processes for new deals, including updating various accounting systems.
  • Works and collaborates with other functional and corporate areas in RGA to achieve accuracy, efficiency, and effective accounting practices and procedures, responding to requests from other functional areas on various inquiries.
  • Assists with report development and/or updates; addresses financial reporting related questions raised by business unit, area, or function.
  • Shares technical expertise with others; recommends process improvements, provides functional advice and/or training as needed.
  • Serves as liaison to other business units, areas and functions as needed.
  • Maintains SOX documentation and provides as needed; may assist with year-end audit and other internal audits as needed.
  • Coordinates regional finance activities for the financial solutions business and takes ownership of complex deal support.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Accounting, Finance or equivalent related work experience. Required.
  • 5+ Years accounting, auditing, actuarial, or insurance administration experience with GAAP reporting and general ledger application experience. Required.
  • PeopleSoft or other accounting software applications experience. Preferred.
  • Financial reporting experience. Preferred.
  • CPA qualified. Preferred.
  • Excel skills - Advanced Proficiency. Required.
  • Investigative, analytical and problem solving skills - Intermediate Proficiency. Required.
  • Interpersonal skills - Intermediate Proficiency. Required.
