Job description

The incumbent for this role will be responsible in preparing and analyzing the GL unit activities for production of financial reporting as well as analyzing the data to ensure accuracy and timeliness on submission.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist the team in preparation of accounting journals accurately and on a timely basis.
  2. Produce and analyze monthly financial statements of the Company(PMB) to ensure accurate presentation and timely reporting in compliance with accounting standards and Company Act 2016.
  3. Review monthly reconciliation and schedules prepared by Management Assistants to ensure accuracy of accounting treatment and timely production.
  4. Prepare schedules to ensure accuracy of accounting treatment and timely production.
  5. Monitor the ageing of balance sheet items (i.e. accruals and provisions) and ensure clearance of the ageing items on periodic basis.
  6. Assist Consolidation and Reporting unit and Treasury and Stakeholder Relations department in variance analysis against actuals and budget for monthly, quarterly and yearly management reporting.
  7. Assist in the preparation of annual statutory audited accounts of PLUS Malaysia Berhad, LPT2 Sdn Bhd and Dormant Companies i.e., Expressway Lingkaran Tengah Sdn Bhd, Linkedua Malaysia Berhad, Penang Bridge Sdn Bhd, Zoom Interactive Sdn Bhd, Terra PLUS Sdn Bhd and Projek Lebuhraya Utara-Selatan Berhad in accordance to specific timelines to ensure compliance to statutory requirements and financial covenants.
  8. Produce and analyze tax return and initial tax estimate of the Company within specified deadlines.
  9. Execute and coordinate the implementation of projects by gathering/providing relevant information relating to the projects to ensure the long outstanding issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  10. Liaise and work effectively with external auditors in order to ensure accuracy accounting treatment and timely production.
  11. Assist in planning and implementation of process improvement and system enhancement projects in GL unit.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Accounting and/or Professional Accounting qualification (ACCA, ICAEW, MICPA, CIMA, CPA, etc) or equivalent
  • At least 2 years working experience in the relevant field of a computerized accounting environment.
