Maintenance Technician
We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to further strengthen our Maintenance department.
As a Maintenance Technician you are required to execute all tasks related to preventive maintenance as well as troubleshooting in order to ensure reliability of the plant on a daily basis.
Responsibilities
- Enforce strict adherence to Oleon’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, including permit-to-work, LOTO, and electrical safety procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions to prevent electrical hazards.
- Ensure safe operation, monitoring, and control of the plant’s electrical distribution system, substations, switchgears, and panels.
- Perform regular inspection, servicing, and maintenance of electrical systems to ensure reliability and minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults, equipment failures, and power disruptions efficiently.
- Provide on-call support during breakdowns or power-related emergencies to ensure continuity of plant operations.
- Lead safe restoration of power supply in coordination with the maintenance team.
- Maintain accurate records of electrical inspections, maintenance activities, and compliance reports for regulatory audits.
- Work closely with maintenance technicians, production teams, and engineering to ensure safe and reliable plant operations.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and supervision to junior technicians when required.
- Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and equipment reliability.
- Support projects and modifications related to electrical systems.
- Operate and supervise electrical installations.
- Comply with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission) requirements at all times.
Qualifications
- SPM/“O” Level/Skills Certificate/Diploma in any related field and valid Chargeman Certificate of Competency (minimum A4 or equivalent) issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission).
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing, chemical, or utilities environment.
- Hands‑on experience in maintaining high‑ and low‑voltage equipment, switchgears, transformers, motors, and distribution system.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards, statutory requirements, and permit‑to‑work systems.
- Ability to work in hot environments, at height, and in physically demanding conditions.
- Independent decision‑making during emergencies.
- Proactive, responsible, and detail‑oriented in managing electrical systems.
- Team player with the ability to work closely with all functional teams within the plant.
- Willingness to work in shifts, on‑call, and during non‑office hours when required.
- Must be willing to work in Pulau Indah, Port Klang.
