Job summary

A consulting firm in Johor Bahru seeks an experienced engineer to collaborate with project teams and oversee M&E projects. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and at least three years of project engineering experience. Proficiency in CAD and BIM software, excellent teamwork, and communication skills are essential. You will ensure compliance with relevant standards and prepare technical documentation. A hands-on approach in developing 3D MEP drawings is a plus.

Job description

Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to understand design requirements and develop effective solutions.

Conduct site surveys and measurements to inform the design process.

Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, and technical documentation.

Assist with the preparation of tender and construction documents.

Monitor project progress and ensure design compliance with relevant codes and standards.

Provide technical support and advice to construction teams during the implementation phase.

To liaise with and submit our documents & drawings to local authorities including TNB, TM, Majlis, Bomba and SKMM.

To attend discussion, meetings (site meetings, client consultant meetings and any meetings requested by our Clients) and factory acceptance testing with all parties involved in the Project including Client, Contractor, Supplier and other Consultants.

To verify the progress & final claim submitted by the Contractor based on the site valuation and prepare payment certificates and final account accordingly.

Qualifications

• Diploma/ Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Preferably with minimum 3 years of experience in M&E project engineering in the construction industry.
• Advanced knowledge in CAD & BIM software, such as AutoCAD or Revit is preferred.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical installations.
• Possess hands‑on experience in developing 3D MEP drawings and conducting clash analysis for construction projects will be an advantage.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with Clients, Local Authorities, other consultants and contractors.
• Familiar with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Able to work under pressure and a good team player.
