Requirements
  • Possess a valid driving license (GDL) for operating lorries.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers during deliveries.
Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain lorries in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the lorry, checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and lights, and report any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, considering traffic conditions, delivery schedules, and customer requirements, utilizing route planning software or maps.
  • Load and unload goods carefully, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit, following established loading procedures.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, including mileage, delivery times, and any incidents or delays encountered during the route, submitting reports to the supervisor as required.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members to provide updates on delivery status, address any concerns, and ensure smooth operations.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the lorry, such as cleaning, washing, and minor repairs, and coordinate with the maintenance department for more complex repairs or servicing.
