About the Role
Full‑time Logistics Operations Manager based in Gelang Patah, Johor. Reporting to the senior management team, you will oversee all logistics and warehouse operations for EQUINE SMG SDN. BHD. This is a key strategic position that will have a direct impact on the company's ability to deliver excellent customer service and operational efficiency.
What You'll Be Doing
Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate effectively with freight forwarders, transporters, and internal stakeholders to guarantee smooth inbound and outbound logistics operations.
- Manage import/export processes, ensure precise shipment documentation, and optimize delivery schedules.
Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Oversee comprehensive warehouse functions, including receiving, storage, and dispatch processes, strictly adhering to FIFO (First‑In, First‑Out) practices.
- Supervise regular inventory checks and conduct monthly stock audits in collaboration with the warehouse team.
- Monitor product movement, generate procurement forecasts, and coordinate with the Sales department to manage slow‑moving or overstock inventory.
- Maintain rigorous accuracy in system stock reports and proactively identify potential out‑of‑stock or overstock situations.
- Ensure the warehouse environment remains consistently organized, safe, and prepared for audits.
Tracking, Monitoring & Operational Visibility
- Manage end‑to‑end shipment tracking, providing real‑time visibility from port of origin through the warehouse to final delivery.
- Ensure timely and accurate status updates are communicated to customers and internal teams.
- Monitor container movements, manage ETD/ETA changes, and mitigate potential operational delays.
- Lead, mentor, and guide the warehouse team in effectively resolving daily operational challenges.
- Conduct performance reviews, facilitate essential training, and coach team members to build a high‑performing and accountable workforce.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous process improvement.
Customer Support & Issue Resolution
- Provide professional and timely updates to clients regarding shipment statuses or delays.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for shipment delays, damages, or documentation discrepancies.
- Collaborate strategically with the Sales team to support pricing strategies, manage service expectations, and refine product/service offerings.
- Perform additional ad‑hoc tasks as assigned by senior management.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in warehouse or logistics management, preferably within the wholesale or retail trade sectors.
- Prior shipping experience is considered a distinct advantage.
- Strong command of warehouse operations, inventory control principles, and sophisticated logistics processes.
- Exceptional analytical ability, problem‑solving skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills, and effective team management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize demanding workloads, and perform effectively under pressure.
- Proven capability to train and develop warehouse team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Must possess own transportation.
- Willingness to travel/outstation within Malaysia and Singapore as required.
