A logistics firm in Malaysia is seeking an experienced individual to manage and expedite shipments, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and legal requirements. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or bachelor’s degree in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in both Bahasa Malaysia and English is essential, while knowledge of Mandarin is advantageous. This role focuses on coordinating shipments and resolving related issues efficiently.
Plan, monitor, and expedite shipments to ensure efficient import and export operations with timely delivery.
Coordinate shipment arrangements with internal departments, transporters, and freight forwarders.
Prepare and verify all shipping documentation, ensuring accurate declarations and report submissions.
Manage, track, and maintain records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
Ensure full compliance with customs regulations and other legal requirements.
Resolve customs, delivery, and shipment-related issues promptly.
Update and maintain shipment data in the system and ensure proper filing of all related documents.
Liaise with government authorities such as Customs, MIDA, and MITI on matters related to regulations, exemptions, duties, and shipment clearance (import and export).
Evaluate and select freight agents, forwarders, and transporters to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations.
Perform any other related or ad hoc duties as assigned by superiors or management.
Possess a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in a trading industry environment. Candidates with prior experience in a Chinese enterprise will have an added advantage.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and logistics management systems.
Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English; proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage for liaising with China-based partners.
Knowledgeable in customs clearance procedures, shipping documentation, and international trade regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to work effectively in a fast-paced or start-up environment.
