A leading organization in Malaysia seeks a legal advisor to provide advice on legal issues and ensure compliance with relevant laws. The role involves drafting legal documentation, managing disputes, and overseeing litigation. The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor of Law, have at least 2 years of relevant experience, and exhibit strong communication and analytical skills. This position offers the opportunity to work independently while supporting various business teams.
Advise, identify, and provide advice in respect of legal issues for the business activities of the Group to ensure that the rights and interests of the organization is well protected & not compromised, legal risks are mitigated & minimised & in compliance with the relevant laws.
Advise on and participate in dispute resolution and processes and manage litigious matters with external lawyers in strategic direction and management of the legal proceedings, oversee the litigation or arbitration process.
Advise on and participate in dispute resolution and processes and manage matters with the regulator and authority.
Draft, negotiate and manage legal documentation for commercial transactions (including non-disclosure agreements, tenancy agreements, sales and purchase agreements, MOUs, letters of offers etc.) entered by the company and identify legal issues with solutions as well as participate in and support business teams on contract negotiations.
Analyse and advise on law and a wide range of legal matters relating to commercial, litigation, corporate areas with solutions to mitigate legal risks.
Manage and work with external counsel in Malaysia and various jurisdictions where the organisation works including Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong, and other jurisdictions in the region.
Work with group legal on any assignments as well as project assignments in addition to working with all business stakeholders.
Conduct legal research on areas or subject atter in any areas of laws which concern the group and its businesses.
Generally attending to and solving any legal issues that may arise from time to time and support other departments and functions as required.
