Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in Malaysia is seeking a Legal Executive to provide legal advisory, manage contracts, and ensure compliance with regulations governing marine, customs, logistics, and telecommunications operations. The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge of corporate law and at least 2 years of relevant experience. Excellent negotiation and drafting skills are essential for this position.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of legal practice or in-house counsel experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian corporate, commercial, and employment law.
  • Familiarity with marine/shipping or telco law will be a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with vendors, partners, and regulators.
  • Ensure compliance with maritime law, port authority guidelines, customs regulations, and MCMC licensing rules.
  • Advise on corporate governance matters for holdings and subsidiaries.
  • Handle disputes, litigation processes, and liaise with external legal counsel.
  • Maintain legal documentation, licenses, and statutory filings.
  • Provide legal guidance on business expansion, mergers, or acquisitions.
