A healthcare provider in Malaysia is seeking a legal counsel to provide accurate and timely advice on various legal topics, including corporate finance and labour law. The ideal candidate will need a law degree and at least 3 years of post-qualification experience, with proven skills in negotiation and communication. Responsibilities include collaborating with management on defence strategies and ensuring compliance with governance policies. This role requires strong analytical and drafting skills, along with professionalism and strategic thinking.
Provide accurate and timely counsel in a variety of legal topics (labour law, partnerships, business ventures, corporate finance, medico‑legal etc.)
Provide strategies and collaborate with the management team to devise efficient defence strategies.
Collaborate with internal audit team and specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance.
Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations.
Liaise with Business Development team and negotiate with various parties in business expansion.
Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues.
Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel etc.), creating relations of trust.
Draft and solidify public announcements, agreements, contracts, and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights.
Provide clarification and rectifications on legal language or specifications to various departments in the organization.
Degree in law.
3+ years’ post‑qualification experience (private practice and/or in‑house).
Experienced in corporate & commercial work.
Minimum 3–5 years in a managerial or advisory role, leading teams or managing external counsel.
Strong analytical, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and strategic thinking.
