Job summary

A fragrance manufacturing company in Malaysia is looking for a candidate to prepare and manage fragrance samples and oversee laboratory activities. This role requires a minimum of an SPM certificate with credit in Mathematics and proficiency in English. Responsibilities include ensuring the laboratory complies with safety and operational standards, as well as evaluating fragrances based on customer needs. Candidates should be able to work independently and be willing to work in Glenmarie, Shah Alam.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare fragrance samples based on project briefs.
• Manage and replenish fragrance library stocks.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated and in good condition.
• Support fragrance evaluation for new submissions.
• Conduct stability tests in oven and UV box.

Job description

Preparation of samples and perform laboratory activities.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Preparation of fragrance samples.
   1. Assist Sales Managers, Business Development Managers and Sales Director to prepare fragrance submissions based on project briefs.
   2. To prepare in various finished product applications as requested by customers.
   3. To prepare samples for customers.
   4. Prepare fragrance samples for QC library requested by manufacturing.
2. Manage Fragrance Library.
   1. Replenish expired fragrances and ensure stocks are always adequate.
   2. Ensure solvents, sampling bottles, smelling strips, blotters, bottle labels, beakers, plastic bags, pipets are always adequate.
   3. To replenish unperfumed bulks and ensure that they are within expiry date.
   4. Collate all new fragrances for Business Development Managers to present to Sales Team 1st week of each month.
   5. Ensure fragrances no longer in compliance contents are segregated.
   6. Laboratory is clean end of each working day and fragrances used are placed back to respective shelves according to categories.
3. Manage Laboratory Activities.
   1. Waste oil and recyclable materials are disposed of in correct manner as per ISO guideline.
   2. All equipment for example, viscometer, weighing scales, oven is in good condition and calibrated either internally or by external party.
4. Support Evaluator.
   1. In evaluation of fragrances in finished product before new submitting to customers (compatibility check).
   2. In evaluation of fragrances in customers’ base when complaint arises (trouble shooting).
   3. Stability tests in oven and UV box.
