A construction company located in Malaysia, Pahang is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage procurement, monitor project budgets, and ensure timely delivery of materials. Ideal candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying and possess skills in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD. Responsibilities include sourcing quotes, issuing purchase orders, and analyzing costs for projects. Candidates should have good communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia, and the ability to multitask effectively.
Source and obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for materials, equipment, and services.
Prepare and evaluate price comparison sheets for management approval.
Assist in issuing Purchase Orders (PO), Letter of Award (LOA), and subcontract agreements.
Maintain supplier database and update material price records.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and cost accuracy.
Perform basic quantity take-offs from drawings for tender, budgeting, and cost estimation purposes.
Assist in preparing preliminary cost estimates and project cost summaries.
Support in analyzing material and labor costs for budgetary control.
Assist in monitoring project expenditures and comparing them against approved budgets.
Update cost tracking sheets and prepare simple cost reports for ongoing projects.
Identify cost variances and highlight potential savings or overruns to the QS team.
Maintain and organize all QS-related documents such as quotations, purchase orders, and cost records.
Prepare and update project cost summaries, procurement logs, and progress reports.
Ensure all documentation complies with company procedures and is properly filed.
Liaise with site personnel to verify material requirements and quantities.
Support project team in day-to-day QS, procurement, and administrative tasks.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Senior QS or Management.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and AutoCAD.
Exposure to housing or building projects is an added advantage.
Basic understanding of take‑off, cost estimation, and procurement process.
Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is an added advantage).
Able to be organized in a big volume of data and detail‑oriented.
Able to handle stress & multitasking is a must in our company.
