A Junior Quantity Surveyor assists the project and commercial teams in managing costs, preparing estimates, and ensuring that construction projects are completed within budget. This role provides support in measurement, valuation, documentation, and contract administration under the supervision of a Senior QS or Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and Bills of Quantities (BQ).
  • Conduct measurement and quantification of materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Assist in cost planning, cost control, and preparation of cost reports.
  • Prepare tender documents, quotation requests, and subcontract packages.
  • Evaluate supplier/subcontractor quotations and prepare comparison sheets.
  • Support procurement activities and negotiation processes.
Contract Administration
  • Prepare progress claims, payment certificates, VO (Variation Orders), and final accounts.
  • Monitor project expenditures and update monthly cost summaries.
  • Ensure proper filing and documentation of all QS-related records.
Site & Coordination
  • Conduct regular site measurements and verify work progress.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and site teams.
  • Identify discrepancies and report issues to the Senior QS.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Quantity Surveying.
  • Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and measurement standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and QS software (added advantage).
  • Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and good communication skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
