Job summary

A leading HSE services provider in Malaysia is looking for an HSE Officer to ensure compliance with HSE regulations. The ideal candidate will develop and implement safety policies, conduct regular risk assessments, and deliver training programs. A diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety and at least one year of relevant experience are required. Successful candidates will be proactive in safety training and maintaining safety documentation, making a significant impact in their manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience working as an HSE Officer in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001/14001 management systems.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the facility complies with HSE regulations and industry standards.
• Develop, implement, and update HSE policies, SOPs, and safety guidelines.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, job safety analyses (JSA), and hazard identification.
• Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare detailed reports with corrective and preventive actions.
• Track and analyze incident statistics to prevent recurrence.
• Plan and deliver HSE training programs (PPE usage, fire safety, chemical handling, machine safety, emergency response, etc.).
• Ensure workers understand and follow safety rules and procedures.
• Conduct routine workplace inspections, equipment audits, and safety walkthroughs.
• Monitor the condition and operation of safety systems (fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, emergency exits, alarms).
• Maintain up-to-date HSE records, permits, MSDS/SDS documents, and inspection logs.
• Prepare HSE performance reports for management review.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans (fire, chemical spill, medical emergencies).

Job Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, or related field.
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent (preferred).
• At least 1 year experience working as an HSE Officer in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Knowledge of HSE regulations, risk management, and safety standards.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001/14001 management systems.

Salary Range: Up to RM5.5k
