Job summary

A dental supply company in Penang is seeking an IT Site Support Technician to provide both on-site and remote support for dental imaging systems, including X-ray equipment. We are looking for a motivated IT Site Support Technician to provide on-site and remote technical support for dental imaging systems, including X-ray equipment & clinic PC.

Requirements
  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma / Advanced / Higher / Graduate Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years of experience in IT support or related field.
  • Good working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, Desktop & laptop hardware and peripherals, Basic networking (LAN / WAN).
  • Basic SQL knowledge is an advantage.
  • Familiar with computer hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative and service-oriented attitude.
  • Willing to provide remote support during non-working hours when required.
  • Possess own transport and willing to travel.
  • Open-minded, proactive, and eager to learn.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of DICOM connectivity, PACS / RIS will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site and remote IT support to customers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues on-site or off-site.
  • Set up and configure connections between server computers and medical devices, including X-ray systems and diagnostic cameras.
  • Perform backup and recovery support for patient data and server PCs.
  • Respond promptly to internal and customer IT support requests.
  • Prepare service reports and maintain accurate customer records.
  • Provide usage guidance and basic training on hardware and software to customers and colleagues.
  • Perform regular data backups for company servers and workstations according to schedule.
  • Identify shortages of IT components and arrange procurement when necessary.
