Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT and Operations Manager to lead and actively manage our internal systems and supporting processes across our business. This role combines strategic oversight with direct involvement in day‑to‑day IT operations, system administration, policies development, and compliance activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, operational insight, and a proactive mindset to ensure system reliability, security, and scalability while driving continuous improvement and compliance across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
IT Systems & Infrastructure
  • Lead and execute day‑to‑day IT operations, including systems administration, service desk oversight, hardware/software lifecycle management, and user support across multiple geographies.
  • Own and manage the JML process across systems and landscapes.
  • Actively handle incident management and ensure incidents are logged for internal IT Ticketing systems and operational reporting (e.g. monthly reporting for risks and operations).
  • Implement, upgrade, and integrate internal IT platforms (e.g. collaboration tools, enterprise apps, cloud services), with hands‑on involvement in configuration and rollout.
  • Manage IT administration tasks, including asset management, licences management, and vendor coordination.
  • Monitor system health, backups, and ensure data security and resilience.
  • Initiate improvements and lead those to enhance and optimise IT administration and compliance (e.g. via automation opportunities and enhanced use of MS365 functionality).
  • Drive security awareness through training sessions and phishing simulations.
Operations & Compliance
  • Maintain and update documentation for global IT policies and procedures, with guidance from the CISO.
  • Continuous improvement of IT policies and procedures to align with changing regulatory requirements, ISO27001 standards, and the evolving needs of the business.
  • Design and implement automated workflows to streamline internal IT processes.
  • Monitor compliance with information security policies, including data protection and privacy standards (e.g. GDPR) across the group, and report findings to senior management.
  • Conduct annual audits of processes and systems to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead the development and enhancement of Turnkey’s Knowledge Management system to meet the needs of a growing business.
  • Deliver training and guidance to staff on IT systems, processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Identify improvements and implement those to optimise compliance activities via available technology.
  • Serve as the point of contact for external IT, security vendors, and consultants, including supplier due diligence.

We are looking for an independent, proactive and hands‑on professional who thrives in a small to mid‑size company. Ideally you will have 5+ years of hands‑on experience in IT operations, and a service‑oriented mindset. As well as providing leadership, you’ll be prepared to roll your sleeves up and engage with stakeholders from across the wider business.
