A leading technology firm in Malaysia is seeking an IT Infrastructure Specialist to manage server environments and ensure robust network systems. We are seeking a skilled and versatile IT Infrastructure Specialist with expertise across server management, messaging systems, client platforms, and media management. This role requires strong technical proficiency in Linux and Windows environments, networking, storage, and cloud technologies. Multilingual capabilities in Japanese or Mandarin are essential to support our diverse client base.
Operating Systems: Linux or Windows (based on role focus)
Networking (Expert Level): DNS, DHCP, troubleshooting, strong foundational concept
Storage (Intermediate Level): NAS, SAN, RAID, NFS
Technical Skills & Expertise
Linux OS (Any Distribution): Proficient in managing and troubleshooting Linux environments, including system administration, shell scripting, and performance tuning.
Windows Server OS: Strong expertise in Windows Server architecture, Active Directory, Group Policy, and server roles configuration.
Advanced Networking Concepts: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and firewall configurations. Capable of diagnosing and resolving complex network issues.
Certifications Preferred: CCNA or CCNP to validate hands‑on networking proficiency.
Enterprise Storage Solutions: Experience with NAS, SAN, RAID configurations, and NFS protocols. Familiarity with storage provisioning, performance optimization, and backup strategies.
Virtualization Platforms: Hands‑on experience with VMware or Hyper‑V for deploying and managing virtual machines and infrastructure.
Cloud Technologies: Working knowledge of AWS or Azure for cloud‑based deployments, storage, and compute services. Experience with cloud migration and hybrid environments.
Relational & NoSQL Databases: Skilled in administering and optimizing databases such as Oracle, MySQL, SAP HANA, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Cassandra. Capable of performing backups, restores, and query tuning.
Microsoft Exchange & M365: Expertise in managing Exchange On‑Premise environments and Microsoft 365 services including email, calendaring, and collaboration tools.
SharePoint Administration: Experience with SharePoint setup, permissions, and content management.
Active Directory (AD): Strong understanding of user authentication, domain services, and directory management.
Middleware & Security Protocols: Familiarity with Tomcat server configuration and SAML‑based authentication for secure application access.
Backup & Archival Solutions: Experience with Commvault or similar data protection platforms. Skilled in managing tape libraries, disk‑based storage, and cloud storage environments.
Cloud Storage Platforms: Proficient in AWS S3, Google Cloud Storage, and Azure Blob Storage for scalable and secure data storage.
