Job summary

A technology company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide day-to-day support to users while troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma or Degree in IT, and at least 2 years of IT support experience. Responsibilities include maintaining servers, assisting in cloud service monitoring, and enforcing IT security measures. Strong knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft 365 is required, along with good communication skills and a proactive attitude.

Qualifications

Provide day-to-day IT support to users, troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and system issues, and ensure smooth IT operations with minimal downtime.

Assist in maintaining Windows servers, Active Directory, file servers, and Microsoft 365 user accounts under guidance.

Support basic network operations including LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN connectivity, and coordinate with vendors or ISPs when required.

Assist in enforcing IT security policies, monitoring antivirus and system updates, and promoting safe computing practices among users.

Maintain records of IT assets, software licenses, warranties, and support equipment setup, movement, and replacement planning.

Assist in monitoring cloud services (Microsoft 365 / Azure AD) and perform routine backup checks and restoration testing.

Support IT projects, system upgrades, and technology improvements, including coordination with external vendors.

Provide basic user guidance on Microsoft 365 and internal systems, and assist in preparing IT documentation, SOPs, and user guides.

Handle helpdesk requests professionally, track issues, follow up on resolutions, and elevate problems when necessary.

Assist with audits, IT planning, reporting, and perform other IT-related duties assigned by the IT Manager or management.
