Job description

The IT Assistant Manager leads and manages the MIS Department, ensuring reliable IT operations, effective user support, ERP system stability, and continuous improvement of the organization’s IT infrastructure and services.

Experience Required

Minimum 5 years of experience in IT support, MIS, or related technical roles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate all activities of the MIS Department to ensure efficient and effective IT service delivery.
  • Assign tasks, monitor workloads, and guide IT team members to ensure timely resolution of IT issues.
  • Provide coaching, technical guidance, and on-the-job training to IT staff to enhance team capability and performance.
  • Oversee IT helpdesk operations and ensure prompt response and resolution of user requests.
  • Provide second‑level support and manage escalations for complex hardware, software, network, and system issues.
  • Ensure clear and consistent communication with users regarding issue status, resolution progress, and preventive actions.
  • Oversee ERP system support to ensure correct system usage, data accuracy, and compliance with business requirements.
  • Coordinate ERP system improvements, small‑scale corrections, and enhancement initiatives with users and vendors.
  • Supervise installation, configuration, upgrading, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, printers, servers, and network equipment.
  • Oversee maintenance and performance monitoring of internal servers, storage devices, PCs, and office IT infrastructure.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure timely escalation and resolution of critical IT incidents.
  • Oversee administration of user accounts, email systems, system access rights, and basic server‑related tasks.
  • Ensure proper user onboarding, offboarding, and access control in line with security and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee IT asset management and maintain accurate records of hardware, software licenses, and IT accessories.
  • Ensure complete and up‑to‑date IT documentation, including system configurations, inventories, and SOPs.
  • Prepare and review IT‑related reports on incidents, system usage, performance, and asset status for management review.
  • Liaise with IT vendors and service providers for troubleshooting, maintenance, and system support activities.
  • Support and coordinate IT projects, system upgrades, and new technology implementations.
  • Assist in planning hardware maintenance schedules, software updates, and system improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with IT SOPs, company policies, audit requirements, and data security standards.
  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements, automation, and continuous improvement within the MIS Department.
Technical Skills
  • Network Knowledge: Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), network protocols, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Programming: Proficiency in programming languages such as PHP, Java, and C++.
  • Operating Systems: Experience with Windows Server administration (including Active Directory, Group Policy, etc.).
  • Cloud Management: Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud service management.
  • Experience with ERP systems administration is highly desirable.
  • Troubleshooting hardware (desktops, laptops, printers) and software issues.
