Job description

Meiyi Trading Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled Interior Designer to join our dynamic team in Shah Alam, Selangor. As an Interior Designer, you will play a crucial role in crafting visually stunning and functionally-driven spaces that reflect our clients' unique visions and enhance their overall experience. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with a talented group of designers and contribute to the success of our growing organisation.

What you’ll be doing

• Conduct site visits and measure spaces to gather necessary information for design ideas
• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and preferences, and translate them into cohesive interior design concepts
• Prepare detailed design plans, including floor plans, 3D renderings, and material selection
• Produce CNC-ready 3D modelling drawings for fabrication purposes
• Arrange client visits
• Ensure project completion within the allocated budget and timeline
• Co‑ordinate and facilitate communication between relevant parties (consultants, contractors, suppliers) to ensure all designs meet standards and client expectations
• Provide exceptional customer service and build strong relationships with clients

What we’re looking for

• Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in Chinese (spoken and written). Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia also required.
• Degree in Architecture, Interior Design or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in interior design, preferably in commercial or residential sectors
• Strong proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and 3D MAX
• Excellent space planning, colour, and material selection skills
• Ability to think creatively and provide innovative design solutions
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with clients and project stakeholders
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Familiarity with local building codes and regulations
