Huntsman Global Business Services is now looking for a dynamic individual as an Intercompany Accountant. The position entails handling intercompany processes, coding invoices and preparing balance sheet reconciliations. It requires direct interaction with various levels of management globally to ensure timely, high‑quality service.

This role is primarily responsible for completing timely reconciliations of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable balances with intercompany entities worldwide, and for settling intercompany and affiliate outstanding balances.

The ideal candidate will be located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

As An Intercompany Accountant You Will

• Prepare and post various monthly intercompany transactions and entries, including creating and processing non‑trade invoices.
• Interact with respective business units to facilitate special reporting requirements.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations for balance sheet and intercompany accounts and analyze discrepancies.
• Analyze aging for Accounts Payables and Receivables.
• Research and follow up on aged intercompany items.
• Explain inter‑company balances and outstanding issues each month.
• Investigate failed automation items for trade and non‑trade transactions.
• Maintain intercompany account data via balance sheet reconciliations, identifying issues, unreconciled and aged items.
• Initiate payments and netting for intercompanies and affiliates.
• Post entries for securitization program, intercompany debts and interest.
• Balance intercompany debt and interest with counterparties.
• Reconcile intercompany debts to Treasury Tools.
• Assist in preparing ad‑hoc reports such as year‑end reporting as assigned.
• Provide support and service requests from the business globally in a timely manner.
• Implement systems and procedural changes.
• Participate in ad‑hoc projects and migrations (if any).
• Participate in User Acceptance Tests (UATs).
• Participate in internal and external audits.
• Comply with SOX and IA control guidelines for all intercompany and affiliate transactions.
• Follow instructions and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Assist other employees in accomplishing Huntsman company goals.
• Participate in required training programs.
• Participate in Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.

What skills and experiences are we looking for?

• Degree with 1 year of accounting experience.
• Prior work experience in a shared service and accounting environment.
• Ability to follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data.
• Ability to exercise judgment and apply company policies to resolve repetitive problems and moderately complex tasks under close supervision.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS.
• Proficiency in MS Office and MS Excel.
• Ability to prioritize and work under tight timelines.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin; comfortable working with diverse cultures.
• Ability to excel in a fast‑paced environment.
• Customer‑service orientation; committed to responding efficiently to customers’ needs and delivering quality work.
• Experience with accounting systems such as SAP is a plus.
• Tactful and effective communication, maintaining strong work relations.
• Flexibility and adaptability to new instructions and dynamic organizational priorities.
