Job summary

A leading construction company in Johor Bahru is seeking an Inspector of Work for M&E/C&S/Architectural projects. The role includes conducting inspections, supervising daily operations, and ensuring that all work complies with approved specifications and regulations. Candidates should have a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and at least 3-5 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Revit is essential. This is a crucial role to facilitate construction quality and safety in ongoing projects.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering fields.
  • At least 3-5 years working experience in M&E/C&S/Architectural consultancy/developer.
  • Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections on site for M&E/C&S/Architectural projects.
  • Supervise daily works to ensure compliance with specifications.

Job description
Inspector of Work (C&S/ M&E/ Architectural) (Johor Bahru)

To carry out all M&E / C&S / Architectural inspection on site.

To carry out coordination with others IOW related works.

To supervise daily works are done according to approved specifications and drawings.

To verify contractor site daily report and compile relevant documents.

To witness tests being carried out and identify only approved materials were used as per contract.

To generate site progress report and issue site memo whenever necessary or required.

To identify and compile defects on site and report to superior for further action.

To monitor closely all contractors’ daily work progress and manpower on site.

To monitor construction work schedules closely and to report to superior on any anomaly.

To push contractor regarding work progress in order to avoid delay.

To report to site manager on site matters, current site activities and progress regularly.

To detect and report any non-conformance work to superior / manager for further action.

To report immediately to superior any discrepancy on site between drawing and actual work.

To record and compile all site activities on daily basis.

To liaise with and assist other site colleagues on any site matter if require.

To attend progress coordination meeting with contractor/consultant whenever necessary.

To ensure operational directions are based on the most stringent global standards, focusing on operations processes that have less impact on the environment, biodiversity, and waste management.

To work to limit usage of resources and recycle when possible.

To ensure a high level of environment safety and prevent pollution.

To ensure construction materials and resources are properly utilised.

To ensure no misuse of resources.

Control & Monitoring the Defect Rectification

To ensure that completed units are rectify with minimum defects.

To carry out joint inspection with Customer Relation Department and ensure that the units are in satisfactory conditions and ready for handing over before CPC is issued by the architect to the Contractor.

To inspect the units after CPC is obtained and ensure that all fittings are installed completely, to check that plumbing and sanitary installations are properly functionable and units cleanliness is at an acceptable level.

To record the defect list and forward to the relevant contractor for defect rectification.

To carry out join inspection with Customer Service and Contractor upon received of defect list.

To monitor progress of rectification, work as per complaint list within the allowable time frame.

To constantly update status of rectification work.

To co-ordinate with Customer Service Department for joint inspection with contractor on defects rectification follow up.

To execute the final inspection with Customer Relation Department on the completed defects work including handing over key back to Customer Relation Department.

Others

To ensure site complies with safety and health regulations by DOSH/JKKP.

To implement all policies, activities, procedures, instructions as relevant and required by the quality management system.

To meet customers and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

To implement plan actions from risks and opportunities assessment.

To undertake any and all other duties and responsibilities as so instructed by the superior.

Requirement

Candidate must possess at least Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/ Mechanical /Civil / Architectural Engineering or equivalent.

At least 3-5 years working experience in M&E/ C&S / Architecturalconsultancy/developer.

Minimum Autodesk AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Revit any other relevant design software for review and design.

Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM)
