Job summary

A leading inspection and certification company is seeking an inspector to conduct inspections following approved procedures. Responsibilities include reviewing job details, coordinating with port operations, and maintaining inspection equipment. Candidates must have at least SPM and preferably 5 years of related experience. The role requires adherence to safety policies and reporting duties. This position is located in Kota Tinggi, Johor, Malaysia.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education SPM.
  • More than 5 years related experience can be considered for senior roles.
  • Without minimum academic qualification of SPM, must pass the Inspector Quality Assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspections according to approved procedures and instructions.
  • Review job details before inspection and prepare required tools.
  • Coordinate with port operations, agents, and terminals.
  • Perform inspections and supervise activities when required.
  • Prepare and check field reports, updating the Operations Executive daily.
  • Maintain inspection equipment in good working condition.
  • Report any discrepancies during inspection.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy.

Coordinate with port operations, agents, and terminals on vessel arrival and berthing status.

Perform inspections, supervise inspection activities when required.

Prepare and check field reports, update the Operations Executive on daily activities, and report any issues encountered.

Maintain inspection equipment and ensure they are in good working condition.

Bring to the attention to superior of any possible discrepancies during inspection and to take preventive measures.

Adherence to SGS Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy by uphold a good safety behavior and exercising necessary standard and process when carry out your responsibilities at all times to ensure compliance to the HSE requirements.

Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by your reporting manager and/or Senior Management
