Job description
Overview

Few positions available under Molding Engineering section:

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end NPI process for plastic injection molded components and assemblies.
  • Plan and execute mold trials (T0, T1, etc.) and validation runs (IQ, OQ, PQ) to qualify tools and processes.
  • Develop and optimize injection molding parameters and process documentation (WI, SOP, etc.).
  • Work with tooling engineers, process engineers, and QA to resolve dimensional, cosmetic, or functional issues.
  • Identify and mitigate risks during the product ramp-up.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and ensure successful project handover to mass production.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on lessons learned from NPI cycles.
  • Analyze trial reports, implement corrective actions, and drive process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards (ISO, FDA, etc. as applicable).
  • Provide training and support for production engineers and technicians.
  • Experience with setting up molds and silicone processing for injection molding machines and automated equipment.
  • Performs daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance of all LSR machinery, equipment and systems.
  • Monitors and corrects efficiencies of processes.
  • Train employees on jobs and perform machine/mold setups.
  • Troubleshoots process and machine issues and repairs/corrects findings.
  • Implement and maintain SIM (Scientific Injection Molding) where appropriate.
  • Pulls, cleans, measures screws and barrels as required – maintaining updated/accurate database.
  • Develop and manage validation protocols and reports (IQ/OQ/PQ) and provide objective evidence that equipment, processes, test methods, and product meet requirements and are compliant with regulations.
  • Generate and maintain documentation for all internal manufacturing processes.
  • Responsible to head up test mold progress, perform test mold failure analysis and take lead to improve or overcome new tooling issue before mass production.
  • Responsible to establish and maintain technical documentation of new and existing products.
  • Responsible to analyze, follow up, troubleshooting new trial run or mass production product issues caused by technical settings.
  • Responsible to improve production injection molding quality, cycle time and efficiency through process parameter optimization.
  • Coordinate internal related matters for mold, production equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Supervise injection technicians to follow up job progress and product quality. Assist QE engineer in the first article inspection submission.
  • Accountable for the assignment and performance of subordinates.
  • Responsible to handle injection technician daily tasks and work schedule.
  • Organize technical training and mentoring of relevant injection technical skills.
  • Responsible for injection engineering 7S activity and safe working environment, maintaining high standards.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Diploma or Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in plastic injection molding or related field.
  • Understanding of 5S Management, QMS, ISO 13485 procedures and requirements.
  • Knowledge of mechanical / electrical control.
  • Ability to manage a group of people.
  • Must be willing to hands-on and work in plastic injection molding environment.
