Job description
About the Company

Randstad is partnering with a rapidly expanding IT & Cloud Services Company that operates across the region. As they continue to scale, the finance team needs to evolve from a pure processing function to a value-added partner. They are looking for an Assistant Finance Manager to act as the Finance operations leader. You will be handling Full Sets of accounts, while stepping up to assist the Finance Manager with high-level budgeting and forecasting. This is the perfect stepping stone for a Senior Account Executive ready to transition into management.

The Role

This is a dual-focus role. 70% of your time will be spent overseeing the financial operations and ensuring a flawless month-end close. The other 30% will be focused on financial analysis, cash flow management, and supporting the annual budgeting process. You will not just be entering data; you will be reviewing the work of juniors, analyzing the numbers, and helping to predict the company's financial future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Operations & Reporting (Full Sets)
    • Month-End Closing: Take full ownership of the month-end closing process. Review journals, general ledgers, and schedules prepared by the team to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
    • Statutory Reporting: Prepare the full set of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in compliance with MFRS/IFRS.
  • Planning & Analysis (Budgeting Support)
    • Budgeting Assistance: Assist the Finance Manager in the preparation of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and quarterly re-forecasts. You will gather data from different departments and consolidate the figures.
    • Variance Analysis: perform monthly variance analysis (Actuals vs. Budget vs. Forecast). You won't just report the numbers; you will explain why the variances happened (e.g., project overruns, FX impact).
  • Cash Flow & Treasury Management
    • Cash Forecasting: Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts to assist senior management in working capital planning.
    • Funds Management: Monitor daily cash positions, manage banking relationships, and oversee FX hedging activities (if applicable) to mitigate currency risk.
Key Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 5-6 years of experience in Accounting/Finance, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or senior capacity.
  • Technical Skills: Strong hands‑on experience in Full Set Accounting is mandatory. You must be able to resolve balancing issues independently.
  • Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance. Professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA, MIA) are highly preferred.
  • FP&A Exposure: Prior exposure to budgeting, forecasting, or management reporting is a distinct advantage.
  • Software: Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, complex formulas) are essential for the budgeting portion of this role.
