A leading HR services provider in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced HR Operations Manager to lead the HR Operations Team. This role requires a seasoned HR professional with expertise in Industrial and Employee Relations, focusing on compliance with Malaysian labour laws. Key responsibilities include managing payroll, oversight of HR operations, and fostering a compliant workplace culture. The ideal candidate should have over 8 years of HR experience and a strong track record in IR/ER, alongside excellent communication and negotiation skills.
We are seeking an experienced and resilient HR Operations Manager to lead our HR Operations Team. This role requires a seasoned HR professional with strong expertise in Industrial and Employee Relations (IR/ER) - capable of managing complex cases, maintaining industrial harmony, and ensuring compliance with Malaysian labour laws.
You’ll also oversee core HR operations functions such as payroll, compensation & benefits, and HR systems to ensure smooth, efficient, and compliant HR service delivery across the organization.
Lead and develop the HR Operations Team to deliver efficient, accurate, and compliant HR services.
Take ownership of Industrial & Employee Relations (IR/ER) matters - including disciplinary management, grievances, domestic inquiries, and performance issues.
Serve as the subject matter expert on Malaysian labour law, ensuring the organization operates within statutory and regulatory requirements.
Advise and coach leaders on appropriate handling of complex employee and workplace issues.
Foster a positive and compliant workplace culture through fair and consistent HR practices.
Oversee payroll, compensation & benefits, HR systems (e.g., SAP HR), and HR process improvement initiatives.
Partner with HR and business leaders to align operational excellence with organizational goals.
Manage HR operational budgets and service levels to ensure consistent performance and cost efficiency.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, or related field.
8+ years of HR experience, with a strong track record in Industrial & Employee Relations.
Deep and up-to-date understanding of Malaysian labour law and statutory requirements.
Proven experience handling disciplinary actions, grievances, and domestic inquiries
Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills - able to manage difficult conversations with tact and professionalism.
Resilient, decisive, and solution-oriented, with the ability to thrive in complex and fast-paced environments.
Familiar with HR operations, including payroll, C&B, and HRIS systems (SAP HR preferred).
