Job description
Position Summary

This position functions as both a strategic business partner and hands‑on HR manager for assigned facilities within the assigned operating region in Malaysia.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a business partner for assigned site leadership team to improve operational effectiveness through human resources interventions.
  • Perform analysis on staffing metrics to identify and communicate with Director on structure, inconsistencies, and potential cost controls. Create and present staffing solutions, while maintaining organizational readiness. Assist in managing staffing agency service requirements and issue resolution.
  • Manage a HR team and be responsible for the execution of HR strategies and plans to support the organization’s business strategies.
  • Effective communication and guidance on corporate policies and procedures as well as state and federal legal requirements as they relate to operational issues. Support and coordinate the effective implementation of corporate initiatives.
  • Investigate and research employee relations concerns and work with site Managers and HR Representatives to determine appropriate corrective action to be taken. Mediate employee conflicts, ensuring effective resolution in accordance with GXO policies and manage terminations of employment prior to delivery to employee. Review all corrective action documents related to harassment, violence, drugs, or discrimination. Direct initial investigation and prepare preliminary responses to charges against the company from government agencies; deliver final documentation to the agency.
  • Function as the internal consultant and advice on all areas of human capital related matters and will also play a key role in providing HR advisory to all the line managers, department heads and relevant ground employees.
  • Manage payroll administration and annual organizational programs such as performance management program and compilation of performance appraisal report for salary increment and bonus review.
  • Manage, organize and conduct employee engagement activities such as employee roundtables, employee surveys and company events.
  • Travel to sites to assist in resolving critical HR issues or provide trainings.
  • Participate in business development process and assist with customer proposal development as requested. And project‑manage HR portion of new business startups.
Qualifications Summary
Experience
  • At least 8 years’ experience in related capacity preferably broad-based HR experience in 3PL logistics industry.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities is acceptable.
  • Knowledge of Labor laws
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Human Resources or related field.
  • HR certification is preferred but not mandatory

This position requires a broad understanding of general human resources practices as well as solid technical and behavioral skills as follows:

Technical Skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities using good time management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of relative state and federal employment laws and wage & hours laws to legally recruit and retain personnel and properly administer employee benefits plans.
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office with a proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Word is required.
  • Functional knowledge of SuccessFactor HRIS preferred.
Behavioral Skills
  • Strong understanding and practical approach to business needs and contexts for HR solutions.
  • Strong HR management knowledge.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution training and skills are essential.
  • Good organizational skills with proven ability of meeting deadlines
  • Detail oriented, set high demand in quality of work, effectively maintain confidentiality and preserve integrity of sensitive information/ data
  • Ability to work well under pressure, and a flexible approach to a wide range of tasks
