Job summary

A multinational manufacturing company in Negeri Sembilan is seeking a skilled HR Manager to oversee the recruitment and selection process, ensuring compliance with labor laws while managing performance and employee relations. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in HR or related fields with strong leadership and communication skills. Experience in HR systems like HR2000 and SAP (SuccessFactors) is essential. Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English is required, and familiarity with Chinese is a plus.

Job description

· Oversee the end-to-end recruitment and selection process including job postings, resume screening, interviews and onboarding.

· Coordinate visa and work permit applications for foreign workers and expatriate in compliance with immigration laws and regulations.

· Lead employee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring smooth transitions through orientation programs, documentation and exit interviews.

· Manage performance management systems, including goal setting, appraisals, and development plans. Guide managers in conducting effective reviews and delivering constructive feedback.

· Handle employee relations matter such as conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance handling, ensuring alignment with company policies and labor laws.

· Develop, review, and update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook in accordance with current employment laws; communicate changes effectively.

· Coordinate training and development programs, provide support to managers and employees, and evaluate program effectiveness.

· Maintain accurate HR records, monitor attendance, manage HR systems, and prepare HR correspondences such as confirmations, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary letters.

· Liaise with government authorities to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance.

· Supervise and mentor HRA team members, offering coaching and support to promote high performance and continuous development.

· Act as a strategic HR partner to department heads by providing advice on workforce planning, team structuring, and employee-related matters.

· Lead HR projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with company objectives and timely execution.

· Foster a high-performance culture by promoting accountability, motivation and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Finance, Operations) to implement HR strategies and drive organizational efficiency.

· Provide timely and accurate HR reports and analytics to management to support strategic decision-making.

· Assist in HR audits by preparing documentation and ensuring full compliance with audit requirements.

· Monitor and analyze key HR metrics (e.g., turnover, absenteeism, training effectiveness) and recommend improvements to policies and procedures.

· Undertake any additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned.

Key Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.

· Experience with HR roles in a commercial or multinational manufacturing environment would be an advantage.

· Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in supervising or mentoring team members.

· Strong knowledge of Employment Act 1955 and Industrial Relations Act 1967, HR practices, labour laws and compliance, especially in areas such as recruitment, employee relations, performance management and HR policies.

· Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills to support collaboration with department heads and drive HR initiatives.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.

· Ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day operations and multiple priorities effectively.

· Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English; Chinese proficiency is an advantage.

· High proficiency experience with HR systems, particularly HR2000 and SAP (SuccessFactors) is a mandatory requirement.
