A leading healthcare facility in Malaysia is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards. Responsibilities include training staff on safety practices, conducting inspections, and managing cleaning procedures. Ensure subordinates use appropriate equipment, cleaning material / supplies and techniques to perform cleaning tasks and according to established work instructions or procedure.
Inspect the cleanliness, hygiene and orderliness of routine cleaning performed by subordinates.
Verify Cleaning Checklists completed by subordinates.
Conduct spot checks on the replenishment of consumable items in vacant clean patient rooms, clinical areas and facilities in public areas.
Conduct regular training especially for those with performance gaps and whenever there are new equipment / tools / material / any change of cleaning procedure / as a refresher program.
Provide training to subordinates on the proper way to wear and remove, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as well as the appropriate waste receptacles soiled PPE should be discarded into.
Provide training to subordinates of the proper techniques of hand washing to prevent the spread of infection.
Raise Work Orders for any defects observed or reported by subordinates or to enable repairs or replacements to be taken.
Monitor the display of warning signs such as ‘Wet Floor’ and ‘Cleaning in Progress’ signs before, during and after a cleaning task till the cleaning task is over / the risk of slips, trips and falls is over.
Take immediate corrective and preventive action upon receiving reports of any incidents or accidents e.g. falls, needle stick injuries, etc. directly or indirectly caused by Housekeeping worker or as a result of Housekeeping equipment, task or activity.
Raise an incident report (seek help if not sure how) for any injury, accidents, incidents, damage, losses to hospital property.
Conduct regular inspection to see that chemical bottles on the janitor cart are properly and correctly labeled and the Material Safety Data Sheet for each type of chemical on the janitor cart is available.
Working experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor, Housekeeper or a similar role in the Hospitality Industry.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks and be able to make appropriate decisions in difficult situations.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
Highly responsible & reliable.
Must be customer-service orientated and have excellent hospitality skills.
