Vacancy: Hostel Manager (Lumut & Teluk Intan, Perak | Kapar, Selangor)

The Hostel Manager is responsible for the overall management, administration, and day-to-day operations of a hostel accommodating residents. This role ensures the safety, well-being, and comfort of residents, maintains compliance with government regulations, and supervises hostel staff to ensure a secure, well-maintained living environment. The Hostel Manager serves as the primary point of contact for residents, authorities, and contractors, and ensures operational efficiency through effective resource management.

Roles & Responsibilities
  1. Resident Management

    • Ensure the welfare, safety, and comfort of all residents in the hostel.
    • Handle resident complaints, conflicts, and emergencies promptly and effectively.
    • Maintain accurate records of resident occupancy, personal information, and movement logs.
  2. Operational Management

    • Plan, implement, and manage overall hostel daily operations.
    • Plan and organize hostel activities, both internal and external.
    • Oversee day-to-day hostel operations including room allocation, cleanliness, maintenance, and facility management.
    • Conduct regular inspections of rooms, common areas, kitchens, toilets, and other facilities to ensure hygiene and safety standards are met.
    • Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and improvements with contractors and in-house staff.
  3. Financial and Compliance Management

    • Manage and monitor hostel expenditure, budget, and financial planning.
    • Ensure hostel operations comply with government regulations (JTK) and Acts such as Act 446 – Employee Minimum Standard of Housing Regulation 2020 & Centralized Worker Quarters (CLQ).
    • Work closely with the Compliance Officer to ensure regulatory compliance.
  4. Staff Supervision

    • Supervise and lead all maintenance, security, and housekeeping operations.
    • Prepare and manage employee schedules and shifts.
    • Conduct performance reviews, training, and scheduling to ensure efficient staffing.
  5. Safety and Environment

    • Ensure safety and adherence to hostel rules and regulations.
    • Implement and monitor safety protocols including fire safety, emergency drills, and access control.
  6. Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting

    • Attend meetings and build a good rapport with authorities, agencies, and clients.
    • Suggest and implement new ideas for hostel improvement.
    • Prepare weekly reports, including General Reports, Maintenance Reports, and other relevant documentation.
Qualification and Education Requirement
  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management / Property Management / Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum 5 - 7 year(s) of working experience in managing hostel /property/ facilities in any industry.
