About the role

Harvest Cafe' in Miri, Sarawak is seeking an experienced and talented Head Chef to join our dynamic team. As Head Chef, you will be responsible for leading our kitchen operations and creating delectable dishes that showcase our commitment to using locally sourced, fresh ingredients. This is a full‑time position that offers an exciting opportunity to shape the culinary direction of our popular cafe.

What you'll be doing
  • Oversee all kitchen operations, including menu planning, recipe development, and staff management
  • Ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement new menu items that align with customer preferences and seasonal trends
  • Maintain a well‑organised and efficient kitchen, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Mentor and train kitchen staff to improve their skills and support their professional development
  • Monitor food and labour costs to optimise profitability while delivering an exceptional dining experience
What we're looking for
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or in a similar senior culinary role, preferably within the Hospitality & Tourism industry
  • Proven track record of leading a kitchen team and driving culinary innovation
  • Excellent knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and menu design
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, with the ability to work under pressure
  • Proficient in managing food costs and inventory to maintain profitability
  • Passion for using locally sourced, fresh ingredients and creating memorable dining experiences
