Assistant Manager – Group Corp Finance & Investment Management

Job Purpose:

Responsible to assist the Regional Head with the Group's M&A, corporate transactions and restructuring activities, as well as the Group’s portfolio of investments. GCFIM also works with other divisions within the Group on the Group’s capital raising and investment/divestment activities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support in overseeing a portfolio of investee companies, including initiatives to optimise value
  • Assist in evaluating and pursuing M&A opportunities in line with the Group’s strategic objectives and aspirations
  • Provide support on all deal aspects on M&A and other corporate transactions including structuring, valuation and execution along the required timelines
  • Work with and assist in managing relationships with other internal divisions/departments and external parties including bankers, legal advisors, reporting accountants, tax advisors and regulators on transactions
  • Ensure responsible communication with stakeholders on transactions
  • Ensure transactions undertaken comply with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g. BNM, Bursa Malaysia, MAS, OJK) as well as internal requirements e.g. CIMB Group’s Policies & Procedures and the Department’s Policies and Procedures
  • Any other responsibilities / tasks as assigned by management from time to time

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Professional Qualification in the relevant discipline (Accounting/Finance/Business/Economics)
  • 3-5 years of experience in a relevant banking background in an established bank/financial institution in corporate finance or investment management roles
  • Knowledge of corporate finance and investment management
  • Strong set of strategic and problem solving skills
  • Solid base of problem solving and financial analysis capability
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills, required in guiding and assisting teams in putting forward proposals
  • Strong interpersonal skills, especially in managing differing viewpoints and objectives of internal stakeholders
  • Strong work ethic and culture of excellent service
