Job Summary

The Group Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the full spectrum of accounting and financial reporting functions for GD Group and its subsidiaries. This role supports group consolidation, statutory compliance, budgeting, internal controls, and financial governance across multiple entities within the Group’s property development portfolio.

The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and hands‑on, with solid exposure to group accounts and consolidation, particularly within the property development or construction industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Group Accounting & Financial Reporting
    • Handle full set of accounts for the holding company and multiple subsidiary companies
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and consolidated financial statements
    • Ensure timely and accurate group consolidation in accordance with MFRS
    • Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations
  • Statutory & Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including audit, tax, SST (if applicable), and regulatory submissions
    • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, and regulatory authorities
    • Prepare audit schedules and respond to audit queries promptly
    • Ensure compliance with the Companies Act and internal policies
  • Property Development Accounting
    • Monitor and account for development costs, progress billings, and project profitability
    • Track project budgets, cost allocations, and capitalization of development expenditures
    • Support revenue recognition in accordance with applicable accounting standards
    • Coordinate closely with project and operations teams
  • Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
    • Assist in preparation of group budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
    • Monitor performance against budget and provide variance analysis
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to management
  • Internal Controls & Process Improvement
    • Establish, maintain, and enhance accounting policies and internal controls
    • Ensure proper documentation and approval processes across group entities
    • Identify process gaps and implement improvements for efficiency and accuracy
  • Team & Stakeholder Support
    • Guide and review the work of junior accounting staff (if applicable)
    • Support finance-related matters across departments and subsidiaries
    • Assist management with ad‑hoc financial reports and strategic initiatives
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Education
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
    • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or MICPA is highly preferred
  • Experience
    • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience
    • Proven experience in group accounts and consolidation
    • Experience managing multiple entities under a holding company structure
    • Background in audit firms and/or public listed companies is an added advantage
    • Exposure to property development or construction industry is preferred
  • Technical Skills
    • Strong knowledge of MFRS and statutory reporting requirements
    • Hands‑on experience with accounting systems / ERP
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
