A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Global Sourcing Manager for a greenfield setup, you will be responsible for end-to-end aspects of sourcing material across all divisions of MKS and report to Global Sourcing Director. The product portfolio is very diverse and requires robust sourcing techniques, strategies, and negotiation skills to ensure customer expectations are met. You Will Make an Impact By:
- Source electrical, mechanical and optics materials globally
- Implement and execute category strategies, including developing new suppliers in new markets
- Align with Category Managers on sourcing guidance and priorities
- Align with related other functional team members and create a project team as required
- Generate project savings ideas or sourcing events in the global cost management funnel
- Track each sourcing progress and report out regularly
- Identify potential suppliers for MKS sourcing needs and establish NDAs if not already in place
- Prepare and send RFQ package to the selected suppliers for quote
- Negotiate with supplier during the quotation process and leverage any internal stakeholder needed for technical clarifications that the supplier might have
- Analyze the results of the sourcing events and present a summary of the financial opportunity to the project team and internal stakeholders
- Make recommendations on how to proceed with the best supplier solution
- Communicate the award of the project scope to suppliers
- Facilitate first article PO creation through procurement and monitor until FAI is accepted
- Handoff the supplier to production buyers and ensure master data has been created accurately
- Ensure all suppliers and subcontractors comply with company policies, including ethical sourcing practices, safety, and corporate responsibility
Skills You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience working in a diverse and global supply chain organization
- CPIM, CSCP or similar certification preferred
- In-depth knowledge and experience in Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical/Machining and Optics/Photonics
- Capability to evaluate a variety of potential suppliers and analyze supplier proposals of a total cost
- Negotiation skills for cost reduction, cost avoidance and terms & conditions
- Ability to lead a complex project from end to end and deliver a positive result on time
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Team-player attitude, excellent communication skills, self-motivated drive
- A keen eye on, and a strong interest in the world of sourcing and procurement
- Microsoft office skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet and Power BI
- Working a hybrid work schedule and attending meetings with different time zones
- Flexibility to travel up to 10% of the time
