Job description

We are looking for a seasoned, results-driven leader to spearhead our Global Business Services (GBS) Centre. This role will be responsible for shaping the strategic vision, ensuring seamless service delivery, and driving the continuous evolution of a multi-function shared services environment.

The ideal candidate will oversee diverse business support functions, foster strong stakeholder relationships, and maintain rigorous compliance with both corporate policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery Leadership
  • Set the strategic direction and oversee operational delivery for shared services across multiple business units, ensuring solutions are customer-focused, high-quality, and scalable.
  • Lead the following core service lines:
    • Finance Operations – Direct full-cycle finance processes (Accounts Payable, Billing, Credit Management, Sales Commission, and Record-to-Report) to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
    • Procurement Operations – Manage operational procurement activities, vendor relationships, and adherence to governance standards.
    • Contract Administration – Supervise end-to-end contract lifecycle management, including drafting, reviewing, and maintaining documentation.
    • Payroll Services – Oversee payroll processing, statutory submissions, and compliance.
    • IT Service Support – Lead end-user support, service desk operations, and coordination with infrastructure teams for access and system management.
Centre Operations Oversight
  • Direct the day-to-day operations of the GBS Centre, maintaining service continuity, operational excellence, and compliance with SLAs, KPIs, and governance frameworks.
  • Champion process optimisation, automation, and standardisation across all functions.
  • Maximise resource efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Use data-driven insights to monitor performance, identify patterns, and address potential service issues proactively.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as the key point of contact between the GBS Centre, business stakeholders, and corporate functions to ensure alignment with organisational priorities.
  • Build productive relationships with external stakeholders, such as regulators, industry bodies, and strategic partners.
  • Represent the GBS Centre in audits, compliance assessments, and high-level strategic discussions.
People & Culture Leadership
  • Inspire, guide, and develop a high-performing, cross-disciplinary team.
  • Cultivate a workplace culture centred on excellence, innovation, and accountability.
  • Encourage collaboration, skill development, and knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Lead talent development initiatives, succession planning, and engagement strategies to retain and grow top talent.
Strategic Transformation
  • Drive the evolution of the shared services function into a fully integrated Global Business Services model.
  • Support organisation-wide transformation projects, leveraging automation, digitalisation, and AI tools.
  • Prepare the Centre for future growth through infrastructure planning, service expansion, and workforce readiness.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Take on other leadership or operational duties as required to support the continued success and advancement of the GBS Centre.
Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience in shared services, operations, or corporate services leadership, with a minimum of 8 years at senior management level.
  • Proven success managing complex, multi-functional GBS or shared services operations.
  • Broad expertise across finance, procurement, legal, HR, and IT services.
  • Skilled in navigating matrix organisations and managing cross-border stakeholder relationships.
  • Familiarity with Malaysian or comparable regulatory frameworks is advantageous.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience in budgeting, cost management, and building business cases.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
  • Track record of creating and sustaining high-performing, engaged teams in diverse and multicultural settings.
