A reputable company in Selangor, Malaysia is seeking a Sales Executive to manage sales execution, merchandising, and relationship building in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector. The role demands minimum 2 years' experience in both General Trade and Modern Trade, fluency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin, and strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. The ideal candidate must possess their own transport and have the ability to travel extensively. Competitive remuneration and benefits offered.
Execute daily route plans and sales action plans including regular outlet visits, order taking, stock monitoring, and credit control to achieve assigned sales and distribution targets.
Execute all in-store merchandising and promotional activities in accordance with company standards, including product placement, pricing visibility, and POSM deployment.
Actively negotiate with shop owners to secure optimal shelf space and secondary displays at the point of sale.
Ensure strong product availability, correct pricing, and FIFO compliance to minimize out-of-stock and expiry risks.
Capture merchandising photos for execution tracking and reporting purposes.
Identify sales gaps, low-performing outlets, and new business opportunities, taking immediate corrective action on the ground.
Execute monthly and quarterly trade promotions, trade schemes, and price-offs across assigned outlets.
Support the setup and dismantling of roadshows, market activations, and promotion fairs where applicable.
Clearly communicate promotion mechanics, incentives, and campaign objectives to retailers to drive participation and sell-out.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with shop owners, supervisors, and wholesalers to support ordering, replenishment, and display execution.
Act as the first point of contact for retailers, responding quickly to operational issues, requests, and feedback.
Manage key wholesalers and sub-distributors to ensure consistent stock flow and market coverage.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely deliveries, accurate orders, stock returns, and complaint resolution.
Investigate and resolve customer complaints efficiently, escalating issues when necessary and providing feedback to management.
Maintain high service levels to protect long-term outlet loyalty and brand presence.
Prepare and submit daily call reports, sales performance updates, visit schedules, and territory reports accurately and on time.
Provide market intelligence including competitor activity, pricing movements, and trade conditions.
Support ad-hoc sales or marketing plans as required
Candidate must possess at least SPM/'O' Level or equivalent
Minimum 2 years' experience in FMCG General Trade (GT) & Modern Trade
Demonstrate fluency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, both written & spoken.
Skill: ability to plan sales activities, good interpersonal skill, problem solving mindset, self-motivated & able to work independently
Good interpersonal skills and able to build good rapport with customers.
Computer literate and skilled in MS Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint) for reporting presentation.
Strong in self-initiative, excellent social skill, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Possess own transport and able to travel extensively.
