What role you will play in the team
The Fluid Solids Static Equipment Engineer role provides mechanical engineering expertise and leadership in the design, fabrication, installation, analysis and maintenance of equipment in Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) and other Fluid Solids (FS) processes (e.g. Fluid Coking, Flexi Coking etc.). The role is based in Kuala Lumpur and provides mechanical engineering support to petrochemical facilities globally.
What you will do
We are looking for an experienced individual who will play a key role in the technical decisions we take. Key deliverables include:
- Provide onsite and remote support during Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) / Fluid Coking (FLK) / Flexi Coking (FXK) unit shutdowns including equipment entry and assessment.
- Troubleshoot equipment reliability issues and develop on‑stream repairs to safely avoid shutdown of equipment.
- Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis for static equipment.
- Design FCC / FLK / FXK equipment using established design methods, including static equipment design codes, Finite Element Analysis, and piping flexibility analysis.
- Develop equipment specifications for fluid solids equipment (e.g. vessels and cyclone internals; slide valves; expansion joints; transfer and flue gas lines, etc.).
- Perform engineering oversight of detailed design work performed by engineering contractors, and other engineers.
- Ensure the retention of FCC / FLK / FXK mechanical engineering knowledge base within the corporation through mentoring and development of engineers.
- Ensure maintenance of corporate guides, documents and procedures for the design and maintenance of fluid solids equipment in FCC/FLK/FXK services.
