Job description
ROLE PURPOSE

To provide end-to-end operational, technical, and developmental support for the RENTAS Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system. The role ensures system stability, performance, and compliance through proactive monitoring, incident resolution, code deployment, and collaboration with developers, infrastructure, and regulatory stakeholders.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Operational & Application Support
  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for the RENTAS (RTGS) system and its interfacing components.
  • Monitor system performance, transaction processing, and application logs to ensure high availability and accuracy of settlements.
  • Perform root-cause analysis, troubleshoot application issues, and coordinate fixes with internal development or vendor teams.
  • Provide 24/7 standby support on a rotational basis to ensure rapid response to critical production incidents.
2. System Maintenance & DevOps Activities
  • Manage code releases, configuration updates, and application deployments in coordination with development teams.
  • Perform system patching, environment refreshes, and configuration validation to maintain stability and compliance.
  • Develop or enhance scripts and automation tools (Shell, Python, Ansible, etc.) for operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and database teams to optimize application performance and resource utilization.
3. Business Continuity & Failover Readiness
  • Participate in Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Disaster Recovery (DR) testing to ensure system resilience.
  • Execute failover and recovery drills, validate application behaviour, and document test outcomes.
  • Support regulatory and audit reviews, ensuring all corrective actions and security requirements are met.
4. Process & Governance
  • Follow ITIL practices for incident, problem, and change management.
  • Maintain technical documentation, deployment runbooks, and configuration baselines.
  • Ensure regulatory, security, and compliance requirements in line with BNM and internal governance frameworks.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Academic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of hands-on experience in application support, software development, or DevOps within a financial or high-availability system environment.
  • Proven experience in supporting mission-critical applications with strong understanding of system integration and real-time transaction flows.
  • Exposure to software development lifecycles (SDLC), CI/CD pipelines, and automation scripting (Shell, Python, or Ansible).
  • Experience with application deployments, environment management, and performance troubleshooting across Linux, AIX, or Windows platforms.
  • Prior involvement in incident, change, and release management processes aligned with ITIL best practices.
