A manufacturing company in Johor Bahru seeks a qualified FA Engineer to develop and optimize CMM inspection programs. The successful candidate will perform dimensional inspections, analyze data, and report findings. With a bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of related experience, you will help improve quality standards in manufacturing processes. CMM Programming: Develop, validate, and optimize CMM inspection programs based on engineering drawings.
Dimensional Inspection: Operate CMMs and other metrology equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to perform precise dimensional inspections, including First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process, and final inspections.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze measurement data to identify deviations from specifications (non-conformances), generate comprehensive inspection reports, and present findings to engineering, production, and management teams.
Quality Assurance & Improvement: Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to troubleshoot dimensional issues, conduct root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., SPC, MSA studies).
Equipment Maintenance & Calibration: Perform routine maintenance, calibration checks, and minor troubleshooting on CMM equipment to ensure optimal performance, accuracy, and reliability.
Technical Interpretation: Interpret complex Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols and principles from blueprints and technical drawings to apply correct measurement methods.
Training and Mentorship: Train and guide junior operators or technicians on CMM usage, programming, and quality best practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials Science, Physics, or related field
Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar FA engineer role, preferably in the manufacturing industry (plastic materials, mold design and injection molding process)
Strong understanding and application of GD&T principles
Proficient in CMM software
Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities
Experience with other precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
Knowledge of ISO standards and quality system is an advantage
