A leading manufacturer of printing inks is seeking a Financial Controller in Malaysia. The role involves managing finance and accounting operations, leading financial management and reporting, and ensuring legal compliance. Candidates should have over 8 years of experience in finance, ideally within a manufacturing background, along with strong analytical and leadership skills. The position offers opportunities for process improvement and strategic growth within the firm.
1. Manage all finance and accounting operations for Toyo Ventures Holdings Berhad (TVHB) Group of Companies.
2. To lead, manage and direct all aspects of financial management and reporting of the Group including all financial management reporting, budgeting, profit and cash flow forecast, taxation, legal compliance, investor relation, risk management for the profitable and sustainable growth objective of the Group.
3. Review and analyses the current organization operations of the Group and identify any opportunities for process improvements and system automation in order to achieve higher degree of efficiency across the Group as and when necessary.
4. Assist in presenting to the Board of Directors on financial status by developing forecasts, reporting actual results and analysing variances against forecast or budget and propose any improvements. To work with Heads of Department of respective subsidiaries company and business units to improve cost management, credit and budgetary controls to address profitability and manage and ensure that annual business plans, budgets and forecast are developed timely and track against performance.
5. Assist to develop and implement policies and procedures with focus on the Group’s internal control and understand key elements of the Group’s risk and propose any mitigation of the risk.
6. Liaising with external auditor, tax consultants, bankers, lawyers, company secretary and other relevant statutory bodies for the Group’s audit, tax, banking and legal matters.
7. Manage Corporate Exercise Transactions involving shareholders agreements, valuation and transfer of assets and shares, dividend‑in‑specie, tax plan and debt recovery.
8. Establish Risk Management framework to minimise business risk and liabilities; involving internal controls, information security, credit controls and insurance cover.
9. And any ad hoc as assigned by the Managing Director / Management Board or the Board of Directors.
Requirement:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent. Having finance professional certification such as ACCA, MICPA, MIA is an added advantage.
2. Minimum 8 - 10 years of experience in finance and accounting in a similar capacity, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
3. Well versed in Malaysian tax, MFRS standards, and corporate finance practices.
4. Prior experience in a public listed company and familiarity with Bursa Malaysia reporting requirements is highly preferred.
5. Familiar with ESG‑related reporting in line with Bursa's sustainability disclosures.
6. Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills with a strategic mindset.
