Overview
We are seeking a high-caliber Finance Manager to lead the end-to-end finance function for 2 Business Units within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for delivering timely, accurate financial reporting, driving robust budgeting and forecasting, ensuring strong governance and compliance, and providing insightful analysis that enables informed and agile business decisions. The role also plays a key part in continuous improvement and automation of FP&A processes, while building a cohesive, high-performing finance team that partners effectively with operations and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- End-to-End Finance Ownership (Business Units) — Full accountability for finance operations across assigned Business Units, including general ledger, fixed assets, inventory/costing (where applicable), statutory and management reporting.
- Monthly Close & Reporting Discipline — Ensure on-time, accurate issuance of monthly accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, variance analysis) so financials are analysis-ready and can support swift, well-informed management decisions.
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Business Planning — Develop annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and multi-year business plans aligned with strategic objectives. Challenge inputs, quantify risks/opportunities, and provide scenario and sensitivity analyses.
- Performance Review & Value Creation — Analyze financial performance and trends to identify cost, margin, and productivity improvement opportunities. Translate insights into actionable initiatives with clear ownership, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
- Compliance & Governance — Ensure adherence to local laws, accounting standards (e.g., MFRS/IFRS), tax and SST regulations, Companies Act 2016, Bursa/Listing obligations where relevant, and internal policies/controls. Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely remediation of audit findings.
- FP&A Process Improvement & Automation — Drive continuous improvement, digitization, and automation of planning and reporting processes. Implement driver-based models, standardized reporting packs, and BI dashboards to enhance decision support. Upskill the finance team through training, documentation, and adoption of new tools.
- Team Leadership & Cohesion — Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team. Foster strong collaboration with operations, commercial, and corporate functions. Promote a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.
- Ad-hoc Responsibilities — Undertake additional duties as assigned by superior and meet tight deadlines as required by management.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a recognized professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in finance roles within manufacturing companies.
- Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a hands-on mindset.
- Proven ability to manage tight timelines and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive, proactive, and “can-do” attitude with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of integrity and commitment to governance and accuracy.
