We are seeking an experienced and hands‑on Finance Manager to join our new joint venture (JV) manufacturing company based in Pasir Gudang. This role will not only oversee the financial operations and compliance of the JV but also play a key part in setting up financial systems and digital infrastructure, working closely with both management and IT teams to build robust financial and operational processes from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Lead and oversee the full spectrum of finance functions, including general ledger, AR/AP, cash flow, and month‑end/year‑end closing.
- Prepare and review monthly management reports, financial statements, and variance analysis for the JV board and shareholders.
- Prepare the necessary board papers or exco papers.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (MFRS/IFRS) and local statutory requirements, including tax, audit, and regulatory reporting.
- Develop and implement financial policies, internal controls, and standard operating procedures.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term financial planning.
- Well conversed with commodity risks and management of such risks.
- Have experience in handling big construction projects, including handling capex orders and oversight.
Business Partnering & Strategy
- Work closely with JV shareholders to align financial performance with strategic goals.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth, investment, and cost optimization decisions.
- Support management in feasibility studies, pricing, and project cost analysis.
Finance Systems & IT Infrastructure Collaboration
- Partner with the IT team to design and implement accounting systems, ERP, and reporting tools suited for the JV's operations.
- Lead the finance digitalization initiatives, including automation of workflows, data integration, and process efficiency improvements.
- Ensure proper data governance, system controls, and cybersecurity measures for financial systems.
Team Management & Development
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff to ensure timely and accurate financial operations.
- Build and develop a finance team capable of supporting both day‑to‑day operations and future growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and financial regulations in Malaysia.
- Experience in manufacturing operations, especially within the palm oil industry, will be an added advantage.
- Hands‑on experience with ERP or accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Proven experience in system implementation or finance‑IT collaboration is a strong advantage.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to work in a fast‑paced JV/start‑up environment.
