Finance Analyst – SG&A / Cost Controlling

Hybrid mode: 3 days from office, 2 days from Home

Monday - Friday: 9am - 6pm

Location: Bandar Utama, Damansara

About the Role

We are looking for a Finance / Controlling Analyst – SG&A to support end-to-end controlling activities for operating expenses across 1–2 countries. This role plays a key part in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial analysis, while partnering closely with country stakeholders to ensure strong financial discipline and compliance.

The Controlling Analyst acts as the financial guardian of operating expenses (SG&A). The role ensures that budgets are planned correctly, spending is tracked accurately, risks are identified early, and management has clear financial insights to make decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare SG&A trends, budgets, and forecasts, including Capex, in the financial system
  • Align with country budget holders and stakeholders on assumptions, values, and key SG&A metrics
  • Track actual expenses vs budget and provide monthly financial analysis, highlighting risks and opportunities
  • Validate expenses such as Purchase Orders (POs) and Travel & Expense (T&E) claims
  • Monitor operating expense performance and support cost optimization initiatives
  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for SG&A topics for assigned country/division
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and financial governance standards
  • Identify financial risks, operational gaps, and improvement opportunities
  • Support continuous process improvement in SG&A controlling activities
Requirements
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Finance / Controlling, with exposure to operating expense management
  • Experience working in a multinational company (MNC) environment
  • Strong financial, analytical, and IT/system skills
  • Good understanding of SG&A, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • High level of ethics, integrity, and attention to detail
  • Proactive, self-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
