Job description

We are currently looking for a passionate Finance Analyst for our APAC Regional Hub based in Petaling Jaya. You will be responsible to participate in month-end GL (general ledger) closing activities and financial reporting of Market’s results. In this role, you will support (but not limited to) the preparation and review of Balance Sheet reconciliations, review of journal entries and execution of Internal Controls in accordance with GSK Internal Control Finance Framework and collaborate with stakeholders and other functions (e.g. P2P, O2C, Stat & Tax) to ensure successful month-end closing, reporting activities. You will also be accountable for the timeliness, accuracy, relevance and integrity of financial analyses and reports. Responsible for the financial reporting of the designated entities.

  • Participate in month-end GL (general ledger) close and reporting of Market’s results. Support in the preparation and review of Balance Sheet reconciliations, review of journal entries and execution of Internal Controls in accordance with GSK Internal Control Finance Framework.
  • Provide Record to Report (R2R) transaction processing support and ensuring the delivery of quality in terms of accuracy, completeness and timeliness on a daily basis.
  • Resolve general accounting and reporting issues.
  • Support in the execution of month end close steps in accordance with month end close checklist (MEC) and Operating Procedures in places.
  • Execution of Internal Controls in accordance with GSK Internal Control Finance Framework.
  • Review of monthly Balance Sheet schedules & reconciliation where required. Liaise with respective stakeholders of Balance Sheet Reconciliations to resolve open items.
  • Ensure compliance to Regional Finance Hub policies, local Company legal and statutory requirements Ensure stakeholders queries are attended to and resolved in a timely, responsible and proactive manner.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and other functions (e.g. P2P, O2C, Stat & Tax) to ensure successful month-end close.
  • Supporting the financial reporting of the designated legal entities. Perform first level analysis/ analytical review of Profit and Loss accounts and balance sheet, cost centre checks and transaction posting checks. The incumbent has to be knowledgeable on the principle activities of each designated legal entity.
  • Review Corporate reporting (BISON) vs Statutory reconciliation
  • BISON confirmation review
  • Support new and existing team members through knowledge transfer; sharing of resource, knowledge and experience and best practice thereby ensuring quality is maintained.
  • Work with Global Process Owner and Process Improvement Expert’s (PIE’s) to standardize Financial Reporting activities, update changes to Local Standard Operating Procedures and documentation required. Assist in the preparation of training materials where required.
  • Other ad-hoc activities:
  • Support dividend payment process / related cashflow analysis & forecasting.
  • Participate in any compliance audits and respond to audit queries.
  • Other activities related to Controllership / Reporting activities.
Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

  • Degree with Finance / Accounting. CPA, ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience in Financial Reporting / Auditing experience including areas on financial accounting, reporting and statutory filing, master data maintenance, treasury, asset accounting, inter-company transactions, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in working in Shared Service Centre in financial accounting or audit functions, preferably in a multinational environment.
  • SAP experience
  • Demonstrate a good Commercial mindset and being able to interact with stakeholders at different level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Pro‑active, self‑motivated and displaying initiative in solving problems
  • Actively seeks to improve processes making them more effective and efficient
  • Attention to detail, good analytical and problem‑solving capabilities
  • Ability to plan and manage workload to ensure all key deadlines is met.
