A fast-growing mining and exploration group is seeking a hands-on, ACCA-qualified Finance & Admin Manager to lead finance operations in Malaysia. This role involves setting up and managing the finance function, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and overseeing daily office operations. The ideal candidate will have strong finance setup experience, knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards, and excellent communication skills for collaboration with international stakeholders.
A fast-growing mining & exploration group with operations in the UK and Sabah is looking for a hands-on, ACCA-qualified Finance & Admin Manager to build and lead the finance function in Malaysia. This is a foundational role where you’ll set up processes, strengthen governance, and own end-to-end finance operations while supporting international reporting.
Set up and manage the full spectrum of accounting & finance for the Malaysia entity.
Transition accounts from external providers to an internal function.
Develop SOPs, internal controls, and improve financial processes.
Prepare monthly management accounts, analysis, and reporting for the UK CFO.
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
Ensure compliance with local tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain the Autocount system and support system improvements.
Handle year‑end audit, liaising with auditors and tax agents.
Coordinate with UK finance team on group reporting, consolidation, listing‑related matters, and ad‑hoc tasks.
Oversee daily office operations and general admin for the KL office.
Manage procurement, vendor contracts, and asset tracking.
Support HR admin (leave tracking, onboarding docs, payroll coordination).
Handle regulatory filings, licenses, and company secretarial matters with service providers.
Ensure smooth, compliant day‑to‑day operations for the Malaysia team.
Experience in a sole contributor or finance setup role is a strong plus.
Familiar with Autocount.
Strong knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards & compliance.
Experience working with UK entities, multinational setups, or listing processes is a bonus.
Independent, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing end‑to‑end functions.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with international stakeholders.
Willing to travel to Sabah occasionally for site visits.
