About the job FASHION DESIGNER CUM MERCHANDISER

Job Description

• Conceptualize, develop and create design according to Company direction.
• Research global, domestic and competitive markets to identify new trends.
• Analyze and stay up-to-date with the emerging fashion trends of shapes, colours and designs.
• Design development and fabric selection, design review and adoption, technical design and sample requisition, sampling production follow-up, sample inspection and price negotiation.
• Check quality and measurement for all new sample to ensure that they are according to the spec before production.
• Prepare documents and samples for presentations and photoshoots.
• Together with respective Merchandising Manager, develop a merchandising strategy for the department by taking into consideration of customer profile, classification, resource structure, major vendors, fashion trends, items and price.
• To coordinate and monitor the planned goals in sales, markup, markdowns, shortage, turnover, gross profit and controllable elements of new profits.
• Analyze and interpret various reports (such as stock valuation report, stock aging report, YTD sales report etc.) and to take appropriate action in order to achieve sales and profit goals.

Job Requirements

• Degree / Diploma in Multimedia, Fashion Design or equivalent.
• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Sharp and creative mind for innovative ideas.
• A team player, with strong initiative and creativity, and able to work independently.
• Fine skills in sketching, sewing and material selection and interest in involvement of producing clothing sample.
• Passionate with good fashion sense and knowledge, up-to-date on current and up-and-coming fashion trends.
