Job description

The Product Diagnostic & Quality Center (PDQC) is seeking a highly skilled FA Software Development Engineer to develop, maintain and optimize software tools that support the analysis of NXP products. This role requires close collaboration with design, test and Failure Analysis (FA) and Reliability teams to create software solutions for FA and Reliability Labs globally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain software tools to support Failure Analysis and Reliability teams
  • Collaborate with design engineering teams to gather and process essential data
  • Enhance efficiency in data collection and software tool creation for FA and Reliability Labs
  • Support and improve tools for CAD navigation, memory bitmapping, scan diagnostics, test pattern conversion
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Development or a related field, with up to 2 years of experience
  • Basic programming or scripting knowledge (Python, Perl, Tcl, Shell scripting)
  • Familiarity with semiconductor design tools (e.g., Cadence, Mentor Graphics) is a plus
  • Experience in failure analysis is an advantage
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to excellence
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a global, cross-functional team
  • Strong interpersonal skills with intercultural awareness

By supporting comprehensive product analysis from development to end-of-life, the team ensures top-tier product quality for NXP customers.

FA Enablement Team provides global support across PDQC locations in Austin (USA), Bangkok (Thailand), Kaohsiung (Taiwan), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Nijmegen (Netherlands), and Tianjin (China).
