A facility management company in Johor, Malaysia, is looking for a Facilities Manager to oversee building services and maintenance operations. The role demands a bachelor's degree in engineering or a BO11kV Chargeman certificate, along with at least 5 years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will manage a team, ensure compliance with quality standards, and handle procurement processes effectively. Strong leadership and negotiation skills are essential to inspire the team and improve service quality.
Responsible for ensuring that buildings and their services meet the needs of the people that work in them. Facilities managers are accountable for services such as cleaning, security and parking, to make sure the surrounding environment is in a suitable condition to work. They also manage any building maintenance with heating, air conditioning, and other systems to maintain the working environment.
Ability to handle a team of maintenance heads, technicians, cleaning supervisors and cleaning crew and monitor their performance.
Ensure that all operating standards and guidelines follow company’s policies and procedures.
Ensuring cost‑effectiveness of procurement processes with excellent negotiation skills with vendors.
Asset management and inventory management.
Ability to plan and execute services according to contract and agreement.
Energy management/reduction initiatives across facility as well as utilities management.
Sound understanding of Government Law related to building facility management and cleaning requirement.
Verify supervisor’s planning, attend meeting with client, manage customer complaints, conduct internal troubleshooting meeting, inspect and monitor daily operation activities and verify monthly purchases.
Responsible for other duties and functions as stipulated in Quality Management System and shall:
Ensure that the quality management system conforms to the requirements of ISO 9001;
Ensure the processes are delivering their intended outputs;
Report on the performance of the quality management system and on opportunities for improvement in particular to top management;
Ensure the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization; and
Ensure that the integrity of the quality management system is maintained when changes to the quality management system are planned and implemented.
Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in electrical power engineering or civil engineering; or possess BO11kV Chargeman certificate; or experience in construction or M&E or building facility maintenance and management with minimum 5 years of working experience.
Preferably specializing in Maintenance/Repair (Facilities) or equivalent. (Retail experience is an advantage).
Ability to manage and administer the overall aspect of operations.
Good leadership to inspire and motivate team members to achieve company goals and objectives.
Ensure the highest standard of cleanliness are met in the company.
Excellent organization skills, service oriented, pleasant and courteous disposition.
